Make a Difference

Earn Service Hours

Volunteering with Connecting Chicago is an opportunity to make a difference in somebody's life during this period of social distancing. Volunteers are able to provide support during this difficult time..

All of our volunteers receive service hours for completing tutor training and meeting their students on a regular basis. Tutors receive an average of 15 hours for each student tutored, per quarter.

SCHEDULE

Connecting Chicago operates on a quarterly schedule. You can volunteer for tutoring in three month blocks. Each student will receive one or two 45-minute sessions per week and you set a schedule together!

The upcoming session is Quarter Four. Tutoring will commence on April 19th and end June 18th. The deadline to register is April 5th.

TRAINING

All new tutors are required to attend a 45-minute training session over Zoom. This will give you the confidence to get started with your student! Once you register, we will send instructions on how to sign up for training. Throughout your time as a volunteer, we will support you with curriculum resources and personalized help!

LOCATION

TUTOR MATCHING

In the registration process, you will indicate any preferences for student age or subject area. We will match you with a student who fits your skill areas! We offer tutoring in math, reading, writing, science and social studies. We can also instruct Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese!
